Inspired by my sister Antonia Medrano, The picture is a fist full of power but each finger has a letter of OBEY’s name… The Pinky is the O, the next finger in is the B, the middle finger is the E, and the combo of the pointer and the thumb make up the Y. The Tattoos are New Mexico inspired because that’s where I live. The ZIA is there because I can’t forget where I’m from, and The Bird for the Hispanic workers rights revolution, also the love because Ernesto Guevara said “there would not be a revolution without a strong feeling of love”, and then just the flat out graffiti revolt. It’s against the power, its free people art.
